Equine Encounters Australia therapists/facilitators all hold qualifications in Counselling, Psychology or Psychotherapy, as well as certified Equine Assisted Practitioners, trained through EPI Australia.

Brenda Tanner
Founder, Managing Director, and Head of Programs
After 20 years as a corporate executive, leading people and organisations through growth and change, Brenda combined her love of horses and her life-long passion for supporting people through difficult and challenging times to create Equine Encounters Australia.
In 2012, she studied Equine Assisted Therapy, through Equine Psychotherapy Institute in VIC, and later went on to attain her Post Grad in Gestalt Therapy.
As Head of Programs, Brenda designs, develops and delivers, highly experiential programs which use an integrated therapeutic approach.
Her areas of specialisation are Adult Trauma Recovery and Personal Growth/Wellbeing (Individuals/Couples/Groups).

Rick Klima
Peer Mentor and Facilitator
After a highly successful, 30 year career in the Australian Army, as a Warrant Officer Class 1, Rick continued his career as a regional manager and trainer in workplace safety.
Since joining the team Rick has attained a Diploma in Counselling and is now completing BPsyc.
