Trauma Support

Horses can’t fake it! They don’t judge or guess, they sense what is real and what is a threat to their survival.

Recognised nationally for our Trauma Support Programs, EEA programs are designed specifically to support those who have encountered repeated traumatic events in their day to day lives:

  • Australia Defence Force
  • Police, Ambulance, Fire-Brigade and Correctional Personnel
  • Partners and family members of Trauma Sufferers

In a range of unique programs, our highly qualified facilitators support participants to develop awareness and resources to cope better with anxiety, fear, anger, depressive thoughts and deal more positively with the challenges of everyday life.

Our Trauma Support programs are designed to be challenging, yet highly supportive. We don’t judge, we listen, we observe and we encourage participants to find new and more positive ways forward.

Programs

These highly effective programs are designed for those who have suffered traumatic event(s) during their career and are now living with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and/or depression and anxiety.
Programs can be run for groups or as private individual sessions.

What

In this program you don’t need to tell your story, instead you will be asked to stay in the present moment. With support from our practitioners we will help you to slow-down in order to raise your self-awareness, notice your early warning signs of escalation, identify your triggers and examine your learnt responses.

How

For the duration of the program you will work with the same horse. In each session you will take part in a series of carefully graded activities with your horse which enable you to learn to read yourself. Through the ‘reflective’ qualities of these amazing creatures you will learn to build trust and confidence in the new-found relationship. Discussions are carefully facilitated to encourage you to explore and share your experiences without fear of judgement.
